Introduction
The Association for Continuing Legal Education recognizes that one of the greatest benefits available to its members is the chance to attend its mid-year and annual meetings. ACLEA also recognizes that there are some members who cannot attend meetings because of financial hardship. As a result, ACLEA has instituted a limited number of scholarships for registration fees that will be available for each meeting.
What Do the Scholarships Cover?
The scholarships cover the full or partial cost of registering for the educational segments of the meeting. Expenses related to ACLEA-sponsored social events, travel to and from the meeting, hotel stay, and meals are the responsibility of the scholarship recipient.
Who Is Eligible for a Scholarship?
Any ACLEA member in good standing may apply for a scholarship, provided he or she can show sufficient financial need that would prevent attendance at the meeting absent the scholarship. There is no limit on how many times a member may apply for a scholarship, but should a member receive a scholarship, he or she would have to wait two calendar years from the date of the scholarship award before being eligible to receive another scholarship. Members of the ACLEA Executive Committee are not eligible for scholarships.
How Do I Apply for a Scholarship?

download and complete the Scholarship Application here (attaching additional sheets if necessary) and forward it to Donna Passons, Executive Director, ACLEA, P.O. Box 4646, Austin, TX 78765.
The form must be received no later than 45 days before the first day of the meeting to which it applies. (The deadline is June 18, 2013 for the Baltimore, MD meeting). We will notify you within a few days after the deadline whether you have been awarded a full or partial scholarship.
What About Confidentiality?
Although ACLEA may publicize the fact that scholarships have been awarded, and the number of scholarships so awarded, the individual identities of scholarship applicants or grantees shall remain strictly confidential.
