Your chance to enter the competition for the
2013 "ACLEA's Best" Awards
Dear Colleagues:
It’s that time of the year when you get to show off your organization’s achievements! The entry materials for the 2013 "ACLEA’s Best" Awards are below.
Your organization works hard all year to develop innovative and creative programs, publications, marketing campaigns, and other projects. Rarely do you get a chance to reflect on what you have accomplished, and to receive recognition for those accomplishments. Now is your chance! You can enter a maximum of one project in each category. Organizations of all sizes are encouraged to enter the competition. Effective use of the organization’s available resources is one of the criteria considered by the judges on the subcommittees.
Up to three prizes will be awarded in each category. The entry best exemplifying each category’s criteria will receive the "Award of Professional Excellence." Others will receive the "Award of Outstanding Achievement." In the Programs and Publications categories, up to three awards each for larger and smaller organization will be available (up to six available in each category).
The deadline for submissions is April 15, 2013 (postmarked). Emailed entries must be received no later than April 15, 2013. Please use expedited delivery for submissions sent near the deadline date.
Winners will be notified in June. The awards will be presented at the Annual Meeting in Baltimore, August 3 - 6, 2013 and the winning products will be displayed at the meeting. Selected award winners may also be featured in program sessions at that meeting highlighting outstanding projects.
The Awards Committee Co-Chairs are happy to answer any questions you have about the contest and the awards. And do enter… to steal a line from the state lottery.. if you don’t enter you can’t win. Good luck!

NOTE: In order to avoid the appearance of impropriety or unfairness, members of Awards Subcommittees considering entries for awards are required to recuse themselves from evaluating entries submitted by their own organizations and to make sure they are as objective as possible in evaluating competing entries. Other members of the Subcommittee take special care to be objective when an entry from a colleague on the Subcommittee is being considered. Where appropriate, Awards Subcommittee members also recuse themselves from considering entries from organizations with which they have been recently associated.
