ACLEA is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information you provide to us. This Privacy Policy describes what personal information ACLEA collects from members and customers, how we collect it, and what we do with it. This Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time by means of notice provided through posting on the ACLEA Web site.
TYPES OF INFORMATION ACLEA COLLECTS AND HOW WE USE IT
Members of ACLEA provide us with their names, postal addresses, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail addresses, and websites. Nonmember customers of ACLEA products and services are asked for the same information.
Membership Directory
Membership in ACLEA automatically causes you to be listed in ACLEA's membership directory, which contains all the information listed above. The membership directory (in hard copy or via the ACLEA Web site) is made available only to members of ACLEA.
E-Mail Addresses and Web Sites
Members
ACLEA collects e-mail addresses from members so that we may: (1) keep our membership records up to date; (2) place that information in the ACLEA directory; (3) inform you about ACLEA courses, products, and services in which you as an ACLEA member might be interested; and (4) e-mail you the monthly @CLEA News. (If you do not wish to receive the @CLEA News e-mail newsletter you can unsubscribe by so replying when you receive it.) Your organization's website also appears in the online ACLEA Directory. ACLEA does not sell or rent your e-mail address to anyone, nor does ACLEA use your e-mail address for any purpose other than that for which it was originally collected.
Nonmember Customers
ACLEA collects e-mail addresses from nonmember customers so that we may communicate with you if we have a question about your order. ACLEA does not sell or rent your e-mail address to anyone, nor does ACLEA use your e-mail address for any purpose other than that for which it was originally collected.
Telephone Numbers
Members
ACLEA requests your telephone number so that we may (1) keep our membership records up to date; (2) place that information in the ACLEA directory; (3) communicate with you regarding your ACLEA membership or ACLEA products or services.
Nonmember Customers
ACLEA requests your telephone number so that we may communicate with you if we have a question about your order. ACLEA does not sell or rent your telephone number to anyone, nor does ACLEA use your telephone number for any purpose other than that for which it was originally collected.
Postal Addresses
Members
ACLEA collects postal mailing address information from you so that we may: (1) keep our membership records up to date; (2) place that information in the ACLEA directory; (3) mail you publications to which you are entitled as an ACLEA member; and (4) inform you about ACLEA courses, products, and services in which you as an ACLEA member might be interested. In addition, ACLEA selectively makes its list of member postal mailing addresses available to ACLEA members and to carefully screened nonmember organizations whose CLE-related offerings may be of interest to you. ACLEA does so by means of one-time-use, pressure-sensitive mailing labels. If you would prefer that we not make your postal mailing address available to members and nonmembers as described in this paragraph, please follow the Opt-Out Instructions below. ACLEA does not use your postal mailing address for any purpose other than that for which it was originally collected.
Nonmember Customers
ACLEA collects postal mailing address information from you so that we may fulfill the orders you place with us and to send you information about ACLEA in which we believe you might be interested. If you do not wish to receive such information please follow the Opt-Out Instructions below. ACLEA does not rent or sell to anyone the postal mailing addresses of our nonmember customers, nor does ACLEA use your postal mailing address for any purpose other than that for which it was originally collected.
Credit Card Information
ACLEA collects your credit card information when you pay us by that method. We use the information only to obtain payment for the ACLEA courses, products, and services you purchase. ACLEA does not store your credit card information after we obtain payment for your purchase.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR OUR ONLINE CUSTOMERS AND USERS
ACLEA's site uses "cookies" (small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer) to maintain user session identities. ACLEA's site identifies computer Internet Protocol ("IP") addresses (unique numbers that identify every computer on the Internet). ACLEA uses this information, in aggregate form only, to understand how the ACLEA site is being used (e.g.: number of hits, etc.). The ACLEA Web site is not intended for nor is it directed to children under the age of 14. The ACLEA Web site contains links to many other Web sites. ACLEA is not responsible for the content of those sites or for their privacy policies and practices.
Opt-Out Instructions
If you are (1) a member who prefers that your name and postal mailing address not be made available to third parties, or (2) a nonmember customer who does not wish to receive additional information about ACLEA, please email the below listed information to aclea@aclea.org.
