Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Coordinator - Alaska Bar Association - Anchorage, AK
Full-Time – Anchorage
Requirements:
B.A. preferred, meeting planning experience, excellent oral and written communications skills, proven organizational abilities, high energy, positive attitude, detail-oriented, good inter-personal skills, ability to focus and prioritize, self-starter, team player.
CLE Coordinator Position Description
CLE Duties
- Work closely with the CLE Director to prepare for and facilitate the presentation of CLEs, to include working with faculty, coordinating information for the brochure, creating brochures using desktop publishing software, marketing the program through various mailings, and development of course materials.
- Provide on-site support at live CLE seminars.
- Follow up after seminars: write thank you letters for the CLE Director to sign, ensure evaluations are sent to faculty, and maintain the seminar file.
- Maintain the Events module in Bar Alliance database by setting up events.
- Maintain all CLE records and oversee filing, including archiving records.
- Schedule and distribute CLE video replay materials and supplies around the state. Assist video replay coordinators.
- Schedule webcasts and maintain archive seminar library through our online partner, LegalSpan.
- Coordinate the production of course materials for seminars. Process reprint permissions as needed.
- Oversee CLE registration data entry (which is done by the Admissions Assistant). Make sure the final data is accurate for record-keeping purposes.
- Supervise CLE administrative assistant.
- Maintain permanent files for CLE rosters and evaluations.
- Provide back up to the CLE Library staff when they are out of the office.
- Process requests for CLE accreditation. Approve/deny requests. Maintain accreditation files.
- Assist the CLE Director in administering the MCLE Rule: review and revise MCLE regulations and procedures, including coordination with other Bar departments, develop forms, ensure deadlines met, educate members about MCLE Rule, make presentations to firms and other legal groups about the Rule.
- Other duties as assigned.
Convention Duties
- Work with the CLE Director to plan convention CLE content.
- Coordinate the production of course materials for seminars. Process reprint permissions as needed.
- Oversee CLE and Events registration data entry (which is done by the Admissions Assistant). Make sure the final data is accurate for record-keeping purposes.
- Coordinate exhibitor participation/trade show at the convention. Maintain exhibitor database from year to year.
- Develop underwriting opportunities and solicit sponsors.
- Coordinate the registration/welcome packets for all convention attendees. Coordinate with the Admissions Assistant re registration info and packets.
- Assist the CLE Director in miscellaneous projects as needed.
General Office Duties
- Provide technical assistance/support staff with computer software applications.
- Provide back up to the front desk phones as needed.
- Maintain laptop and LCD projector calendar
- Write and send E-News (weekly Bar & Court announcements/events)
- Other duties as assigned.
Computer Skills

About the Alaska Bar:
The Alaska Bar Association is an instrumentality of the State of Alaska created by Alaska Statutes 08.08.010 et. seq. Under the authority of the Alaska Bar Rules adopted by the Alaska Supreme Court, the Bar Association is responsible to the court for the administration of the bar admission and discipline process.
The Bar also provides continuing legal education, a lawyer referral service, and other membership services.
The Alaska Bar Association is governed by a 12-member Board of Governors consisting of nine attorneys elected by the membership and three public members appointed by the Governor. Each member serves a three-year term.
