ACLEA MEMBERSHIPMembership in the Association for Continuing Legal Education provides a number of benefits. Membership is open to continuing legal education professionals. For an explanation of membership categories, please refer to the member types below. ACLEA reviews all applications for membership and reserves the right to deny membership to those individuals who do not meet the criteria for membership as specified in the membership requirements. ACLEA offers a rolling membership, meaning your membership begins on the date your application is approved and payment is processed, and extends for one year. Dues may be deductible as membership in a professional association on your income tax forms. Consult your tax advisor for more information. To receive member rates for an event, you must first become a member, and then register for the event(s). These will be two separate transactions. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call our office at (651) 366-6082 . WHO CAN BE AN ACLEA MEMBER?Any continuing legal education, CLE, professional can be a member of ACLEA. By "CLE” we mean "the conduct of activities directly relating to continuing education or professional development products and services for lawyers.” It is an admittedly broad definition and we mean it that way because this is a varied and creative industry. Being a member is a benefit to any CLE professional for the networking alone, but there is so much more to your Member Benefits. ACLEA has three categories of membership: Regular, Associate, and Emeritus: REGULAR MEMBERSRegular members are generally CLE management-level staff, though not strictly limited to management. Regular members participate fully in the business and activities of the Association with full voting rights. You may become a Regular Member using our Online Membership Form or filling out the PDF Form and mailing it with payment to ACLEA.
Organizational MembersOrganizations with more than one CLE professional joining will receive per member incremental discounts. Each individual within your organization will still enjoy the full benefits of ACLEA membership, including access to the listservs and registration
discounts for the conferences. The more individuals who participate in your organization the greater the per member discount. Click here to view the rate sheet indicating the dues per member.
You may become an Organizational Member using our Online Membership Form or filling out the PDF Form and mailing it with payment to ACLEA. Information is included with your dues renewal notice. If you did not receive a renewal notice in the mail or have any questions about organizational or individual membership please contact ACLEA at aclea@aclea.org.
EMERITUS MEMBERSEmeritus members are retired CLE professionals with at least ten consecutive years of Regular membership in ACLEA. The criteria for Emeritus membership include years of membership, level of activity within ACLEA, offices held, and service on committees. Emeritus members are exempt from payment of membership dues and may not serve on the Executive Committee but shall be entitled to vote and otherwise participate in the business and activities of the Association. You may become a Emeritus Member by filling out the PDF Form and returning it to ACLEA. Membership Level and Dues
